Vehicle Description After 17 years of touring Top Fuel Funny cars, I purchased this car in 1983 from the second own in Yakima, Wa.
The first owner bought it new in Yakima, Wa.
with 22,00 original miles on it.
The sheet metal on the car was absolutely mint and all original to the car.
The build started in 1984 with complete disassembly of the car.
We kept the original frame and because it was so perfect, we had a jig built off it.
We then removed all the cross members and replace the front with a model A front cross member and cut and pied it to get the right stance.
We c'd the front and rear put the center cross member and tubing in plus the rear cross member for coil over shock.
The frame was boxed and mounted all the chassis parts.
It has a 5 I-Beam axle and a mono leaf spring; 4 bar Pete and Jack rear ladder bars; and a narrowed 9 1957 ford rear end with Dura Blue Axles.
The frame was blasted and painted.
The chassis is show quality.
The Body and all sheet metal and was fished by Ivan Osmonovich.
He also painted the car with Black Lacquer and Lacquer clear coat.
It has new tinted glass.
All the instruments are original and in perfect working order.
It also has mint visor and a restored '36 Ford Banjo Steering wheel connected to a Vega steering box.
The Motor is a NOS Block -1948 59A Merc Flathead V8.
It has a 4 Merc Crank and is standard Bore with all NOS Merc rods and pistons.
The Block, and all the motor parts including an original rare slingshot manifod and Stomberg Carbs were polished.
The Block was then painted Black.
The motor also balanced and relieved with an ISKY Max 1 cam with a Mallory distributor; Rare Thickston Air Cleaner.
The Motor runs hard and cool with 3.
20 rear end gears.
The 39 Trans is rebuilt and polished and painted.
Every nut and bolt is polished SS.
The car drives smooth as silk at 70 MPH in 100 degree weather with no heat problems.
From my years of racing, i sought out some of the best craftsman and fabricators in the country to work on building this car.
Famed funny car chassis builder Jim Hume fabricated the rear floor boards, trans cover, and all the stainless break lines to the JFZ polished disc breaks with black anodized fittings.
Gary Sutherland (Hot Rods by Gazz) fabricated the complete exhaust system, then had it chromed.
He also Heli Arc'd the frame together.
The seat are original with Mohair interior that was redone in the 50's and is in mint condition.
